A Lifetime of Innovation in Low Vision Care

Dr. Shuldiner invented the Richard Shuldiner, OD/William Feinbloom, OD Philosophy & Methods for Providing Low Vision Care™—a comprehensive 4-day curriculum that has been used to train over 70 private practice optometrists. His methods are recognized globally as a gold standard for private practice low vision care.

Teaching—Leadership

Dr. Shuldiner has lectured on low vision care in Russia, China, Africa, Israel, and throughout the United States. He has been featured on television and radio, bringing awareness to the transformative possibilities of low vision rehabilitation.

His accomplishments include serving as Chief Clinical Editor of Managing Low Vision from 2018 to 2022, founding upstate New York Lighthouse clinics, serving as President of the Rialto Lions Club, and serving on the board of San Bernardino Lighthouse and the Eye Health Committee of the American Diabetes Association.

The SLVTI Method

At SLVTI, Dr. Shuldiner shares the exact methods and systems that built his thriving low vision practice in southern California. His philosophy is simple: low vision care is completely win-win. Doctors gain a fulfilling specialty and enhanced income. Patients gain independence and dramatically improved quality of life.

“In terms of just lifestyle, it’s a great way to practice low vision. You don’t need to have an office...You can actually take care of your patients, be nicely compensated and everybody’s happy. It’s completely win-win.”—Dr. Richard Shuldiner.

A Legacy of Patient Impact

Through Dr. Shuldiner's training, over 50 independent optometrists have been equipped to serve patients with low vision—collectively helping over 30,000 patients regain their independence. His work has created a lasting legacy of changed lives across North America and beyond.
